La Basse Peze "On Track"
Our track is being developed in memory of the beautiful Echo who died during the summer of 2008 (thank you Echo for everything that you taught me). The information we give is dedicated to equines everywhere.
An idea origionally conceived by Jeffrey Towers, a novice rider seeking safe, off road riding & Jayne Barker, an experienced rider and handler, begining to train her first driving horse.
Both of the above were also seeking solutions to the annual problem of spring grass !
The idea has been developed and adapted with reference to Jaime Jackson’s’Paddock Paradise’.

INTRODUCTION
Look out at your horses in February - it’s hard to imagine that the grass will ever grow again – look again in April and it can be a nightmare !
As a horse owner in UK. I struggled through winter - in/out, rugs, haynets, mud, rain.
I moved to France in 2005 and suddenly felt liberated – lots of grass – and all my own !
I decided to practice Natural Horse Boarding.
As horse owners most of us are aware of the potential problems which can be brought about by too much rich pasture – even if you are lucky enough to never have experienced laminitis with your horse ( and it is NOT only fat ponies who succumb !), excessive weight gain on spring and summer grass can be a huge problem – especially here in France where the grass ‘just keeps growing !’ Like us, weight is much easier to put on a horse than it is to take off – look – they do it all by themselves !
In agreement ? Read on !
At the top of this page we told you WHY we are developing our ‘ON TRACK’ system, our DIARY will tell you HOW – pitfalls and all !
